The WPL 2024 season witnessed a moment of sheer jubilation as the Bangalore crowd erupted in joy when Renuka Singh, the star in Indian women’s cricket, cleaned up Gujarat Giants Women captain Beth Mooney with a stunning delivery in the powerplay.
RCB-W clashed with GG-W in a high-pressure WPL game at M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium earlier today. Home captain Smriti Mandhana won the toss and opted to bowl first in a no-brainer tactical call.
The surface had helped bowlers with the new ball, and Renuka Singh optimised the pitch assistance to provide an early breakthrough for her team, RCB-W.
In the second over of her first spell, Singh bowled a conventional inswinger, which swooped through Beth Mooney’s gates.
The ball shaped in from outside the off stump and sneaked through the big gap between Mooney’s bat and pad. The Gujarat skipper failed to use her feet and was deceived by Singh’s angling in delivery.
Through the gates 🔥🔥

While a disappointed Giants captain walked back to the dressing room with her head down, The RCB crowd, known for their passionate support and unwavering loyalty, erupted into a frenzy of cheers and applause as Mooney’s stumps were sent flying.
The stadium reverberated with chants of “RCB, RCB” as fans celebrated the crucial breakthrough and rallied behind their team.
As the match progressed, RCB gained momentum and seized control of the game. The bowlers triggered a massive collapse, and half the GG-W side was back in the hut inside the first ten overs of the play.
RCB, coming off a thumping victory in their season opener, is currently the favourite to advance in this fixture.
